Adam and Zero come from countries at war with one another. Their families have fled and now live in Germany. Adam and Zero go to the same school and re-enact the war raging back home in the school playground. In fact, both would rather be at the front: Adam wants to join his sister, who is now in command of an artillery gun; and Zero wants to find his brother, who hasn’t been in touch for weeks. Without realising it, the two hide in the same aid convoy heading for the front. By the time they realise, it is too late: they must now stick together to save their lives.
